The Ham It Down is a high-performance downconverter. It is able to convert
signals from 1.55 GHz to 3.1GHz into the frequency range of SDR.
How do I set up the Ham It Down with my NESDR?
We recommend setting up your SDR first, using our Installation Guide: “Getting Started with NESDR”. Once you have the SDR working as expected, you can then connect the Ham It Down.
Set-up instructions:
- Connect your antenna to the Ham It Down Input;
- Connect your SMA male to SMA male adapter to your SDR;
- Install your SDR/ adapter to your Ham It Down Output;
- If externally powering your Ham It Down, plug your USB power source into the USB jack. If using bias tee power, the Ham It Down will require 200-220mA of current from the SDR. (Warning: do not power your Ham It Down with more than one power source at a given time)
-
Fire up your favorite SDR software, adjust the tuning offset to (+)1.5 GHz and tune to your desired frequency. Alternatively, you can tune to your frequency of interest minus 1.5 GHz. Enjoy!
