This is our step-by-step installation guide to get you started with your new NESDR! To get started, first navigate to your target operating system below and then proceed with the steps that follow.
Driver Installation Procedure for Windows:
Click here to download the latest version of Zadig, used to install the SDR driver for your NESDR. The driver is required to use RTL-SDR compatible SDR software on Windows operating systems.
1. Plug your NESDR into an available USB port
2. Open the 'NESDR Driver Installer', Zadig, by clicking the link above
3. Select 'List All Devices' from the 'Options' menu
4. From the main dropdown, select the NESDR
- Note that the name of the NESDR may be different, depending on your operating system environment.
- "RTL2838UHIDIR" is often the identifier in the drop-down. You may also see “Bulk-In, Interface” with Interface 0 or Interface 1. If this is the case, select Interface 0.
- To ensure you have selected the correct device, follow step 5 before proceeding.
5. Confirm the selected device has a USB ID of 0BDA 2838 or 0BDA 2832.
- If the selected device does not have one of these USB IDs, do not proceed. Instead, revert to Step 4 or contact our Customer Support Team for assistance.
6. Press the large button, labelled “Install Driver”, “Reinstall Driver”, or “Replace Driver” to complete the installation. The button name will be different depending on your operating environment, any of these will install the driver.

Driver Installation Procedure for Mac OS:
There is no driver required for Mac OS! Simply run your favorite SDR software and play with your new toy! That’s it… seriously!

Driver Installation Procedure for Android:

1. Plug your NESDR into an available USB port. If you don't have a standard USB port, you may still be able to connect your NESDR with USB On-The-Go (OTG) using an appropriate cable. We sell them if you need one!
2. Install the driver with the link above.
You’re all done! Now just choose a software and off you go!

Driver Installation Procedure for Linux:
Every model in our NESDR line is fully compatible with all known Linux distros, however, due to the wide variety of distros available, installation procedures can vary. We have a detailed set-up guide for Ubuntu, a common Linux distro, which can be found below. In most cases, you will be able to follow the same general procedures for installation on other distros. If you run into any issues, please contact our friendly Customer Support Team for assistance!
